A Colpitts oscillator with waveform adjustment

A COLPITTS OSCILLATOR WITH WAVEFORM ADJUSTMENT

This is based upon a practical generator by Roger J Green in 2018, which appeared in SPRAT on page 7 Summer 2019 Issue 179.

Essentially, this is a refinement of the original Colpitts oscillator. You can alter the amount of feedback from the transistor to the LC network with this refinement. This mechanism provides you with a way in which to adjust the waveform such that you may make it more sinusoidal, or, if that is not critical for your needs, you can maximise the output voltage.
